Both Miller & McCoy, who have collectively, been in the industry over the last 30 years, wanted to remain in the industry, but wanted a change and more importantly, wanted to see change.

When debating our tagline, we both agreed that it needed to succinctly summarise our promise, thus “Results in change” was born. It talks directly to the fact that as a result of working with us, whether it is training, workshops or consulting, your business needs to directly benefit. It is important that whatever we do, it brings about change and culminates in results.

“Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

I believe “Life is not about finding yourself, it is about creating yourself.”

Peachy as I am fondly referred to, speaks a lot about my personal philosophy. Life is peachy, generally.

People often ask if you are black and white or grey, and I say colour. Now I know that is not what they are asking, but that’s my answer. We should think in colour, dream in colour, create and imagine in colour. Full, glorious colour! For me it’s about taking the limitations of the conventional and looking at them differently. Why does it have to be black or white or grey? Create your own colour palette.

In a nutshell, I am an embracer of creativity in all things, a sports fanatic, consumer of the written word, lover of passion and energy and ultimately a celebrator of life!

Lynn Miller, better known as Peachy to her friends and colleagues, joined the advertising world fairly late in her career. She studied graphic design, started her career in insurance and then joined a traditional advertising agency as part of the production team at Young & Rubicam (Y&R) in 1989.

At Y&R, Lynn moved from production into account management, before going over to the group’s direct agency, Wunderman, where she headed up the Medicover and AA accounts, and was global liaison and head of Microsoft SA.

She moved back into the traditional advertising space, joining DDB in 2006.

Lynn then took up an opportunity to join brand agency, HKLM, to head up the Nedbank account and specialise in branding. From there, she moved back into advertising to HKLM Connect, working closely together with Tracy McCoy.

Lynn then decided to cross over to the client side of the business, joining the Telesure Group as brand leader in 2009. Here she was responsible for overseeing the brand managers across all of the business brands, including Hippo, Budget, Dial Direct, 1st for Women, Virgin, AA and Virseker. After 5 years at Telesure, she decided it was time to give back to the industry and do what she really loves: mentor, guide and train.

Lynn’s experience on both the agency and client side of the business is a bonus, allowing her to view the relationship, challenges and opportunities from both sides. Lynn believes the need for training and the growth of people at the agency level is critical to the health of the advertising and marketing industry.

She is totally committed to giving back by sharing her learnings with others. She sees it as her purpose and it is exactly where she wants to be right now.

Lynn has worked in advertising for over 12 years, gaining experience across many diverse brands including Colgate Palmolive, Danone, Absa, Medicover, Microsoft, AA Assist, Schick, Philips SA and Legacy Hotel Group.

As part of her own personal committment to learning, Lynn recently completed and passed the Brandschool’s comprehensive digital course.

Tracy McCoy

My philosophy is “Jump off the edge and fly”

Audrey Hepburn is my idol. She embodies all the character traits I value. Elegance, simplicity, sophistication, beauty, humour, intelligence, humbleness …

To my friends I am ‘Doris’, a nickname that has stayed with me for as long as I can remember.

I’m inspired by simplicity and am truly myself when surrounded by flowers and spend hours in the garden – my haven – the place where I feed my soul, revive my energy and clear my thoughts.

My daughter, Olivia is my world, my husband, Sean, my best friend. Independently, they ground me and make my life complete.

Tracy McCoy, better known as Doris, has been in the advertising industry for over 25 years. She started her journey in account management at Grey Advertising and TBWA Hunt Lascaris, where she discovered her passion for client service.

Tracy has been fortunate enough to work on some top local and international brands including: Edgars, Standard Bank, Procter & Gamble and Nissan.

The main driver for Tracy in a client service role was managing challenging clients – understanding their problems/challenges, providing sound solutions for the brand and integrating the solution across strategy, creative, media and project management. In her experience, delivery and expertise turns challenging clients into sound partnerships.

An opportunity arose to move into the branding and design business where Tracy spent 5 years working at Enterprise IG as head business unit director. Here her key clients included Coca Cola for the Olympic Games in Athens and the strategic and creative repositioning of Standard Bank to their new identity today.

Tracy moved on to Gitam which later became Y&R, where she was client service director on the MTN business – later becoming managing director of Y&R South Africa.

Having spent 3 years as MD, Tracy missed the dynamic position of client service and being able to share her knowledge and expertise in account management.

She resigned and took on a new venture at HKLM Branding & Design, Starting up their advertising division: HKLM Connect. A phenomenal journey arose of a mixture of branding, design, marketing and advertising and the challeng of bringing all these disciplines together.

After this 7-year journey of passion & delivery, Tracy has formed a partnership with Lynn Miller – to share their knowledge and expertise and to elevate the standards for account management in the industry.

Tracy believes that there is an incredible opportunity to grow and mentor individuals and teams; helping disciplines work together, providing sound solutions to clients and forming true partnerships.
